Description

The "History Trail - Upper Town" is an extension of the existing trail in the Lower Town. 20 stations shed light on historical events as well as people and buildings. This tour of around 3 km in length offers visitors and locals alike an insight into Klosterneuburg's past.

Route description The Historienpfad - Upper Town

Starting from Rathausplatz in Klosterneuburg, the path leads us towards Tutzsteig to the Turkish siege. From there, we walk along Pater Abel Street, make a stop at the memorial of the Pioneer Barracks, and then follow Franz Rumpler Street until we can turn right into Meynertgasse. This leads us to Klosterneuburg Cemetery, where you can enjoy the tranquility. The route continues on Friedhofgasse, Buchberggasse, and Gadesgasse to Burgstraße. After seeing Albrechtsburg, we return via Burgstraße to Hermannstraße, where the Emperor Jubilee School is located. Turning back a little, we follow Markgasse back to the starting point. The path is marked with the respective stations.
