Der Waldhof

Description

The name suggests a closeness to nature. And guests' high expectations of the "Waldhof" in Klosterneuburg are not disappointed. Brigitte and Conrad Blanka's inn is situated on a romantic hill in a green valley in the Vienna Woods. The inn's cuisine is contemporary. And self-confident. The roast pork is cooked in a wood-fired oven from the 1920s. A traditional dish served with dumplings, cabbage and "Bratl-Saftl". Trout, char, pikeperch etc. come from Gut Dornau in Leobersdorf. In summer, the aroma of grilled delicacies wafts through the Waldhof garden. The crispy spare ribs and chicken wings are refined with a homemade marinade. Good food also needs a suitable accompaniment: natural juices, beer and wine come from the region.

Cosiness has one origin

The walls of the "Der Waldhof" inn have been standing tall for more than 100 years. Warm wood colors play the main role in the interior. The unique atmosphere is characterized by cosiness and traditional values. Most of the original furnishings have been preserved: Handmade lamperies, wall benches and a bar from the 1950s tell the story of the time. An extra room is dedicated to the Gugging silhouette artist Josefine Allmayer. The Waldhof has created a place of hospitality that is hard to find anywhere else. Brigitte and Conrad Blanka's honest cuisine reflects the spirit of the times.
