Description

Between Klosterneuburg and St. Andrä-Wördern lies the 3,800-hectare adventure park Eichenhain with its centerpiece, the Hagenbachklamm. The route leads from the St. Andrä access in front of the Hagentale to Unterkirchbach, the heart of the Eichenhain adventure park, and back to St. Andrä.

The Hagenbachklamm is located in the Eichenhain adventure park, which comprises the part of the Vienna Woods between Klosterneuburg and St. Andrä-Wördern. Indeed, old and accordingly tall oaks can be found here, as well as beeches and other deciduous trees. They shade the path along the Hagenbach and contribute to the wild romantic character of the gorge. Numerous bridges cross the creek, but you can also wade in the shallow water or create deeper spots with self-built dams.

At the end of the gorge awaits a large children's playground and Europe's largest private bird of prey station for eager hikers, with approximately 300 specimens of 30 different species. About one-third of the animals can be viewed: from the Lanner falcon to the Andean condor, from the Australian wedge-tailed eagle to the desert buzzard. A guided tour is not mandatory, but it is definitely worthwhile, as you learn a lot about the life of birds of prey in the wild.
